Since COVID-19 is still impacting us, we are having Virtual Small Groups via Zoom for Lent 2021!
CALVARY AMIDST COVID
2021 LENTEN SMALL GROUP FAITH SHARING
In St. Paul’s Letter to the Romans, he asks: “If God is for us, who can be against us?” Jesus knew that his Father would not abandon him, even at the moment of his greatest struggle, when his very life was in the balance.
Let us explore how walking with Christ during times of struggle, isolation and despair, and seeing how Christ dealt with his own crises, can show us a way to understanding that God is always for us, will never abandon us, and can help us face our burdens in grace.
We will use Max Lucado’s video series, Anxious for Nothing: Finding Calm in a Chaotic World as our starting point for each session, and then discuss, in light of each Sunday’s readings during Lent, how we can walk the road of Calvary with Christ and face the obstacles and scourgings in our lives with the grace of God.
Session Dates (All sessions are from 6:30pm to 8:00pm):
Tuesday, February 23rd
Tuesday, March 2nd
Tuesday, March 9th
Tuesday, March 23rd
Bonus Easter Session: Tuesday, April 6th
All sessions will be conducted via Zoom. Please email Deacon Tim at deacontimcross@gmail.com or register here for the Zoom link for each session.
We believe that Faith grows in a circle... and we think Small Group circles are where that can happen. It's where our great big Church becomes many great small churches. It's a place to grow, to be known, cared for and loved!
A St. Mary and St. Philip Small Group ministry emerged in September 2014 to offer it's members the opportunity to deepen their spiritual relationship, engage in fellowship with like-minded people of faith, and to develop a desire to become more intentional disciples of Jesus Christ. Those discussions invariably take us to personal experiences, allowing members to see Jesus though another's eyes, and offer an added dimension to our relationship with Him. Importantly, relationships with one another grow, offering support and fellowship. It is not a small thing to share heartfelt and deeply meaningful core-faith values.

Consider the value of sharing your faith journey with others who have the desire to be in a closer relationship with Jesus Christ. "If you want to walk fast, walk alone; if you want to walk far, walk together".
