Fr. Serge Denis O.M.I., pastor of St. Pierre and Paul Parish that we are twinning with in Haiti, is asking for us to help him and his parishioners to rebuild one of a number of chapels, that are small mission churches in the boondocks of the Parish, which was devastated four year ago by Hurricane Matthew.
We are having a special Second Collection February 6th & 7th at all Masses to help our brothers and sisters in Haiti who are in dire need of our help. If you are not attending Mass, please consider sending your donation to St. Mary's Office or on WeShare unde "Special" and note "for Haiti" in the Comment field.
May God bless you for your generosity!
Our 8th Grade Rel. Ed. students created a virtual greeting card. The screens spell out “Priye pou benediksyon nan 2021! Soti nan Saint Marys Legliz nan Amerik la. Bonswa“. That translates to "Praying for blessings in 2021! from Saint Mary's Church in America. Good evening."
This is a special show of support since both of our parishes agreed to renew monthly financial support to our twinned parish in Haiti!
Father Serge, the pastor in Les Coteaux, Haiti at St. Peter and St. Paul texted Fr. Leo that everyone there is confined to their homes and people don’t have the money to make it and people are very worried.
We are asking those who can to send a one-time contribution through WeShare or sending a check through regular mail, indicating in WeShare or on the memo of your check: Haiti, so that we know the intention of your contribution. Our brothers and sisters in Haiti really need our help. Thank you for giving this your prayerful consideration.
Our Haiti Twinning partnership is going well with our sister parish St. Peter & St. Paul in Coteaux, Haiti (click for map). Fr. Serge, the pastor who visited us in Fall 2018, is keeping the Faith alive in their Catholic community!
Since January 2019 when we started tithing our monthly commitment, we've sent $8,540 to support St. Peter & St. Paul Parish. They have put those funds to good use, like purchasing a new sound system, repairing facilities and being able to offer regular masses. We have renewed our tithing committment for 2020.
We are planning other ways to show them our support as a community of faith in the future! Look for updates here from time to time.
Through your generous donations, our sister parish of St. Peter & St. Paul was able to buy a new sound system!
Check out the equipment!
Thank you for your generosity and God bless!!
