Confirmation Candidate
The Sacrament of Confirmation, one of the sacraments of Initiation, celebrates a person’s wish to reaffirm her/his Baptism.
a. A person’s desire to live a Catholic Christian life.
b. To worship with the Roman Catholic community.
Those high school youth who choose to begin the preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation are expected to have fulfilled the following requirements:
c. Previous celebration of Baptism, Eucharist, and Reconciliation.
d. Fundamental commitment to Christ and openness to the work of the Spirit in one’s life.
e. Active involvement in St. Philip/ St. Mary Parish community through weekly Mass attendance.
f. Active involvement in a ministry of service in the parish or community.
If you feel you meet these requirements and would like to talk about being Confirmed, please email Mrs. Farland at dfarland@stmarysgrafton.org or talk to Fr. Leo.
Baptism, the Eucharist, and the sacrament of Confirmation together constitute the "Sacraments of Christian Initiation", whose unity must be safeguarded. It must be explained to the faithful that the reception of the sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace.
