Jesus in the Eucharist binds us together spiritually as a faith family. He also inspires us to stay bound together in all sorts of ways. If you were at one of the Masses at St Mary Church on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, then you heard me introduce something called Flocknote, a modern means of communicating which uses the latest technology to bind us more closely together as a faith community. Specifically, if you have a cell phone that lets you send and receive text messages, then you can register with the parish (St Mary or St Philip) to receive text messages informing you of happenings at the parishes, such as the start of a new Message Series. Another example would be a reminder about a special planned event. For instance, if we had this in place last October during the Ministry Fair at St Mary, we would have sent out a text message that said, “Remember to take time after Masses this upcoming weekend to visit the St Mary Ministry Fair in the hall downstairs and see the wonderful opportunities we have to serve God and each other”. And we would have texted the Christmas Mass schedule for both parishes before the holiday.
